Les samedi 18 et dimanche 19 septembre, la nouvelle association « Il était une fois La Sentinelle » organise une exposition intitulé « La Sentinelle née de la mine ».
Elle se tiendra à la salle des associations. Le point avec Gilles Alexandre, le président.
En deux mots, pouvez-vous présenter votre association ?
« Notre association a vu le jour en juillet 2010. Elle se compose de neuf membres fondateurs, bénévoles, tous motivés et bien déterminés à faire connaître les centres d’intérêts. C’est-à-dire organiser des recherches de documents, photos, récits de mémoire, pour les répertorier, les classer et les mettre à disposition du public au travers d’expositions. Les recherches sont basées de la création de la commune à nos jours ».
Souhaitez-vous de l’aide ?
« Les Sentinellois restent, à mon avis, les principaux acteurs qui possèdent la photo, l’histoire d’un commerce disparu ou encore des documents sur les fêtes de quartiers qui dorment dans les greniers et qui pourraient nous être prêtées ou données afin de constituer notre banque de données. Cela nous permettrait de retracer la vie locale de La Sentinelle d’antan ».
Comment vous joindre ?
« Nous allons bientôt mettre en place une permanence hebdomadaire dans un local en ville, ou chacun pourra venir dialoguer et faire connaître ce qu’il possède. Nous nous déplacerons également à domicile et sur rendez-vous pour les personnes qui le souhaitent ».
Pourquoi avoir choisi la mine ?
« Tout naturellement, car la commune est née de la mine. La fosse Sentinelle a été transformée en église en 1852. » •

In short, can you introduce your association?
« Our association was founded in July 2010. It consists of nine founding members , volunteers, all motivated and determined to publicize interests. That is to say, organize research documents, photos, stories memory for identifying, classifying and making available to the public through exhibitions . The research is based the creation of the common nowadays .  »
Would you help?
« The Sentinellois remain , in my opinion , the main actors have the photo, the story of a trade or missing documents on neighborhood parties who sleep in the barn and we could be lent or data to be our database . This would allow us to trace the local life of the Sentinel of yesteryear .  »
How to join ?
« We will soon set up a weekly permanently in a local town, where everyone can come and talk to know what he has. We also will move home and by appointment for those who wish .  »
Why did you choose mine ?
 » Naturally, as the town grew out of the mine. Sentinel pit was converted into a church in 1852.  » •
