Les pierres de construction

Building stones

le coût d’extraction du matériau en carrière ;
le coût d’acheminement du matériau (brut ou taillé) jusqu’au lieu de construction ;
le coût de préparation du matériau (par exemple, taille des pierres en blocs parallélépipédiques) ;

Architecture and construction, natural stone, building stone formerly called, is a building material consisting of rock from which it is extracted. It differs from manufactured products such as concrete blocks or clay bricks, which are called artificial stone.
The stones used in construction shall have adequate mechanical strength, durability and a price commensurate with their implementation, the latter combining:
the extraction of material cost carrier;
the cost of transporting the material (raw or cut) to the construction site;
the cost of preparing the material (e.g., stone size of parallelepipedal blocks);
the cost of the apparatus.
The main rocks used in construction are granite, limestone, sandstone, millstone, marl, slate, marble.
